Our horizon cleared Grandmother Moon’s huge pink-tinged orb this evening. For many years I would strip and dance in her cleansing rays each month. Joy and gratitude would fill this Full-Moon Woman’s heart. One year I found myself at the pipestone quarry on the flat prairie as Grandfather Sun was about to be covered by the horizon. I stretched my arms wide to touch the glow of Sun and Moon on opposite sides of the plain. It was the Autumnal Equinox and Grandmother’s full face shone. The entire dome of the sky was visible and I could see the curve of the Earth horizon. Dancing and spinning I reveled in the expanse. I could truly see my place in Universe. I lay down on the prairie grass and watched all through that night, feeling the Earth turn beneath me as stars and planets appeared to rise and cross the sky until they faded into the dawn. That night I didn’t strip my clothes off–my soul was naked.
